Excursion Elafonissi - pink sands
You will be able to climb its legendary stairs and see the miraculous icon of the Assumption of the Virgin. The tour will end with a 3-hour stop for swimming and relaxing on the beaches of Elafonissi.
Elafonissi beaches. Elafonissi in Greek means “Deer Island”, and you can wade to reach it! Elafonissi beach is recognized as one of the most beautiful in Europe and is famous for its white sand with pink splashes due to numerous fragments of shells, as well as crystal clear waters.
Monastery of Chrysoskalitis. The snow-white monastery of Chrysoskalitis, built high on a hill, is considered a great center of pilgrimage among the Greeks. Having risen to the church, you will see a thousand-year-old icon of the Assumption of the Virgin - one of the most "strong" relics in the Orthodox world, which is truly recognized as miraculous.
Shop beekeeper. It is the local thyme honey that is famous all over the world. You can also buy olive oil, mead (rakomelo), raki, bergamot jam, red and white wine, various cheeses, herbs, mountain tea, seasonings and much more.
